Dancing With God is an exploration of the divine gifts of courage and grace in the face of evil. Moreover, it is a doctrine of God as the source of that courage. Baker-Fletcher presents an understanding of the work of the Trinity with regard to the problem of crucifixion, a metaphor she uses for unnecessary violence. She develops a process of relational, womanist theology that considers the empathetic omnipresence of God in the midst of unnecessary suffering and the healing power of God in movement of the Holy Spirit. She engages the contributions of a diversity of theologians like Paul Tillich, Karl Barth, Gordon Kaufman, John Cobb, Jr., Majorie Suchocki, Charles Hartshorne, Andrew Sung Park, and Katie Cannon in her discussion of the dance of the Trinity in creation, and the problem of sin, evil, and suffering. Through creative works like that of Alice Walker's The Color Purple and journalist Joyce King's account of the James Byrd, Jr. murder in Jasper County, Texas, Baker-Fletcher reveals the healing, encouraging power of the Holy Spirit in the lives of survivors of unnecessary violence.

In the midst of his old age and illness, John prayed to the Blessed Virgin asking her to send someone to comfort him while he approached his death. His prayers were answered in the form of a Hospice nurse who walked with him in his last steps towards eternity. The reader is window-looking into the soul of a man about to die; unfettered by the terrors of the unbeliever, comforted in the peace and nobility of a man redeemed by Christ. This book is a collection of daily reflections and meditations to help our lives become a living prayer.

"Dancing with God" is a book about the dance we call "life." Based on her original research study of Spiritual Life in mainstream, interfaith congregations, Dr. McKay takes us on a journey to discover God available everywhere for all people. She helps us find God in our lives by sharing stories from her own life and from some of the four thousand others in her study. Dr. McKay describes God as Mystery and Presence, reminding us that God's other name is always "surprise!" She challenges us to follow a God directed pathway; to trust that Love does not abandon us and to know that Spirit linked to Spirit will change the world. "Dancing with God" is like a digital book, each chapter containing a unique God experience which you can revisit in whatever order you choose and is a powerful way to share God experiences in a group setting.

"The image of dancing with God may seem like an odd one for a book on Christian theology," writes Jay Johnson, "More than a few people probably assume dancing and theology have at least one thing in common: Other people do them. The good news of Christian faith suggests something different. Each and everyone of us is invited to dance with God. Each of us can dance. Each of us can do theology." Theology, long seen as the domain of professors, scholars, and clergy, is actually the work of all God's people. Dancing with God uses the metaphor of dance to help readers--especially those without a theological background--approach the discipline of theology as something we all do, and not only something to believe. And doing theology is the practice of hope. This book explores the way Anglicans approach theology. The good news, according to Johnson, is not about the assurance of "getting things right." It comes, instead, from considering our texts, creeds, and liturgies as invitations to dance with the God of abundant life. Beautifully and accessibly written, Dancing with God makes an excellent book for individual or parish study. Jay Emerson Johnson has his M.Div from Nashotah House and his Ph.D. in Systematic and Philosophical Theology from the Graduate Theological Union. He has served a variety of Episcopal parishes, and taught at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific. He speaks to church groups regularly about theology.

Upon reading the poetry Judith Johnson Kypta expresses so vividly within these pages, you will learn to appreciate her love and understanding of the Lord. Life held many mountains and valleys in these last few decades of her life; the words throughout the verses of poetry show this. Becoming a Christian in 1981, Judith began looking at life in a new light. Deciding to follow in the way of the Lord, she was determined, too, to gear her family in the same. Judithas lifestyle began to change. This change caused a happiness and contentment she never felt before. Judith grew to depend on the Lord to lead her, as He would, through a dance. She was careful to follow His footsteps, learning how to let Him take the lead, trusting and resting in aHisa arms. Judith stated that she hopes through reading this collection of poetry that you too, will consider Dancing with the Lord.

Dancing on God's Terms is a clever play on words. Through these Hebrew and Greek terms, and their definitions, God describes His layout and plan for dance, praise, and worship. Dance ministry is impossible to carry out properly without praise and worship. We will look into both the Old and New Testament and study these terms in their original language.
